College Admissions
Step 1: Have you met the A-G Requirements? Checklist
Speak to your counselor to review your class requirements.
Step 2: Select the Higher Education route you would like to take.
- Trade school (LATTC), Community College (LACC, SMC, ELAC, etc...), Cal State Universities (CSU), or University of California (UC)
- For Community Colleges and Trade schools you must apply online. Links are located at the bottom.
- For University admission you must adhere to the deadlines and also apply via Naviance, Common App, or directly with the University.
- You'll need your Social Security Number.
- Select the semester you would like to begin.
- Make sure that you participate in the Orientation of school and communicate with their counselor to establish your goals and set the essential classes needed.
- Look at the bottom and use the links for enrollment and information.
Step 3: Each Higher Education Institution have their own application deadlines, which need to be met.

Step 4: Financial Aid - Filing period for FAFSA and Cal Grant Verification Form opens for applicants to all terms (filing period open Oct. 1, 2023 through March 2, 2024)
Step 5: Take College Entry Exams: All CSU, UC, and some private colleges you are required to take either SAT or ACT. In Community colleges you must take a placement test after enrolling.
